L & D Upholstery is a company in Houston who creates customized furniture for major hotels and hospitals in the Houston area. You ever wonder where theses places get their furniture from? Well now you know!
I believe they also customized different rooms of furniture for the Hotel ICON downstairs. I’ve stayed at Hotel ICON before. It’s a trendy boutique hotel located in downtown Houston. I couldn’t believe it when I heard they designed some of their stuff! You could actually go to L & D Upholstery, draw out a piece you want, pick out the fabric and wood. That’s what I tried to convey in this website. I scanned different stains and made a catalog of it as well as different types of pieces you could get.
Every time I read or say COLLADA, I think of that song If you like Pina Colada by Jimmy Buffett. But I am sure most programmers don’t think of it that way.
Collada was started by Sony and was later acquired by The Khronos Group. COLLADA is a COLLAborative Design Activity for establishing an interchange file format for interactive 3D applications.
COLLADA defines an open standard XML schema for exchanging digital assets among various graphics software applications that might otherwise store their assets in incompatible formats. COLLADA documents that describe digital assets are XML files, usually identified with a .dae (digital asset exchange) filename extension.
It is the official format of the Sony Playstation 3 AKA PS3. Early collaborators included Alias Systems Corporation, Criterion Software, Autodesk, Inc., and Avid Technology. Dozens of commercial game studios and game engines have adopted the standard. Google Earth (release 4) has adopted COLLADA (1.4) as its native format for describing the objects populating the earth. Users can simply drag and drop a COLLADA (.dae) file on top of the virtual Earth. Alternatively, Google SketchUp can also be used to create .kmz files, a zip file containing a KML file, a COLLADA (.dae) file, and all the texture images.
Here is the revamped logo of COLLADA that is on a book on the subject. I can’t claim that I did the sailboat design, however, it is really nicely done. This was the first (and only) piece of work that I’ve ever done that was published at a global level. I thought it was really great - but no cause for celebration and to break out the Dom Perignon. It’s a type of celebration that just makes you abit surprised, speechless and in awe at the same time. Words can’t really describe that feeling - but it’s a good feeling.

This 30-second commercial clip was produced by a 5-person team. The instructions were simple - we had to get the message across in a creative way to get people to stop smoking. I created the storyboard - the idea of a man smoking with the smoke detector inside his apartment. I also helped with the editing in Adobe Premiere. Everyone else had a job to do or help provide equipment (camera, tripod or their roommate!). The title of this video is called “Smokin’ Will” because our freebie actor’s name is Will - a teamster’s roommate. He smoked alot so we could get all the footage we needed. Thanks Will!
Revolution Through Evolution logo. Look for these tee shirts at Siggraph 2008 in Los Angeles next week. The theme for SIGGRAPH this year is “Evolution” and we wanted to focus on having some kind of “OpenGL” undertones fried into the engineers’ brains as well as “OpenGL - version 3″. Does that blue look familiar in the “3″?
Here’s a Hint:
If you see people wearing that shirt from Siggraph 2008, tell them you know who I am.
Fertility Rentals was started because there was a need for rentals for these expensive units. Most of these consumerable goods range from $200 - $800 and could be affordable on a monthly basis for women who are trying to conceive. Fertility Rentals also offers products that are only available in other countries, which provides a niche to why this e-commerce website is different and needed.
This was the old logo and old website of Dragonsnap Digital. There was a really cool Flash intro that would pop up and go directly to the website. I will miss it as that Flash piece took me literally 3 days to put together with finding the right sound, but it was too hard to upkeep on a regular basis (adding more work in). Now I’m just “Keepin’ It Simple” - which works best for me.
This newspaper ad was done Quark Xpress for The Hollyfield Foundation, which is a non-profit organization catered to the gay, bisexual and transgender community in Houston, Texas.
